Why I choose to return back to God
“And he arose and came to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt compassion, and ran and embraced him and kissed him.”
~ Luke 15:20
This verse is taken from the Parable of the Prodigal Son.
As someone who is born into a Christian family and started going to church at a young age, I wouldn’t have thought there will be a day I would feel like I have drifted so far away from God..
However, I’m happy to say I have owned my faith for myself and chose to continue being a Christian.
The reason why I felt like I’ve drifted so far away from God is because I didn’t find meaning and purpose whenever I go to church.
However, what triggered my decision to return to God is the experiences which God has blessed me with. Countless of times there have been many instances in my life I noticed God working in me and ensuring that I was safe.
In any event this self-reflection of mine regarding Luke 15, has impacted you, or if you’re someone who is also far from God, know that God is a faithful and compassionate God. He welcomes his children to return back to his family. If you would like to have a chat about Christianity, feel free to reach out to me via Telegram @justemanuelho.
