Faith isn’t Just a Feeling
For today’s blog post sharing, I would like to share that if one doesn’t “feel” God’s presence, something is wrong with the person. This is entirely not true. The truth is, feelings are not constant. They change depending on our mood, but faith isn’t meant to rest on our emotions.
Let us take a look at the teachings of Jesus in Matthew 5–7 (the Sermon on the Mount) and James 2, I see something different. Jesus didn’t just talk about belief. He showed us how to live our life. Like in James it says, “Faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.” Real faith isn’t just believing the right things, it’s doing the right things, even when it’s hard.
I’ve been trying to put this into practice in small ways in my everyday life. Some examples that I try to put to practice;
Having a prayer session when I feel tired for God to give me strength.
Choosing forgiveness when bitterness feels easier.
Serving without expecting any form of good returns.
Showing up in God’s presence even when I don’t feel like it.
These are not big actions, but they’re small actions which I am trying to build and strengthen my spiritual muscle to increase my faith daily. As you read this, what is one small action you are willing to take to grow and strengthen your faith today? Share with me on Telegram!
To conclude today’s short blog post sharing, Faith grows not by knowing more, but by doing what we already know. Do one small act of trust at a time, until those steps become the rhythm of your life.
